You'll Need:
#10 Bedspread-weight cotton thread,2 strands held together or 1 strand Lustersheen,Steel "0" hook

Shell=5 dc
V-st=dc,ch 1,dc

To Make:
Row 1:Ch 53,hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across.Ch 3,turn(52 hdc).
Row 2:3 dc in same st as turning ch.(Sk next 2 sts,shell in next st,sk next 2 sts,sc in next st)across to last 3 sts.Sk next 2 sts,4 dc in last st.Ch 3,turn(9sc,8 shells,8 dc).
Row 3:Sc in same st as turning ch.(sc in center st of next shell,shell in next sc)across to last 4 dc,sk next 3 sts,sc in last st.Ch 3,turn.
Row 4:Rep Row 3.At end,ch 4,turn.
Row 5:Dc in same st.V-st in each sc and center st of each shell across to last 4 dc.Sk next 3 dc,V-st in last dc,turn(18 V-sts).
Row 6:Sl st in 1st V-st,ch 4,dc in same st.V-st in each V-st across,turn.
Row 7:Rep Row 6.
Row 8:Sl st in 1st V-st,ch 3,3 dc in same sp,sc in next V-st,(shell in next V-st,sc in next V-st)across to last V-st.4dc in last V-st,turn.
Row 9-22:Rep rows 3-8.
Row 23:Ch 1,turn,sc in same st and in next 3 sts,hdc in next 3 sts,(sc in next 3 sts,hdc in next 3 sts)across to last 4 sts.Sc in last 4 sts.Fasten off,weave in ends.
