| You'll Need: Scrap worsted yarn,approximate yardages- *Solid motif=15 *Rnd 1=3 *Rnd 2=4 *Rnd 3=8 *Fill-in motif=3 "J" hook Gauge:Each motif is about 4 1/2" Octagons:Make 36,joining as you go. To Make: *First Motif-(yellow/gold tweed) Rnd 1:Ch 6,join to form ring.Ch 3,15 dc in ring.Join with sl st to top of beg ch(16dc). Rnd 2:Ch 6(cts as dc,ch 3),dc in same st,*sk next st(dc,ch 3,dc)in next st;Rep from * around.Join with sl st to 3rd ch of beginning ch-6(8 ch-3 sps). Rnd 3:Sl st in next ch-3 sp.Ch 3,work(2 dc,ch 2,3dc)in same sp.Work (3dc,ch3,3dc) in each ch-3 sp around.Join to beg ch-3.Fasten off,weave in ends. *Second Motif-(brown) Rep Rnds 1-2 Rnd 3:Rep Rnd 3 until there are 2 ch-3 sps left.With wrong sides of motifs tog,*in next sp,work3dc,ch1,sl st in ch-2 sp on yellow/gold tweed motif,ch 1,3 dc in same sp on brown motif.*Sl st between center dc on yellow/gold tweed motif.Rep between *'s once.Join.Fasten off,weave in ends. *Third Motif-(blue/white/rose varigated) Rep as for Second Motif,joining to brown motif. *Fourth Motif-(scrappy) Rep Rnds 1-2. Rnd 3:Rep Rnd 3 until there are 4 ch-3 sps left.Join in same way as Second and Third Motifs,joining to 2 sides. *Fill In Motif-(black) Work one in each opening. Ch 4,join to form ring.Ch 3,sl st into top of center dc of any 3-dc group,ch 3,sc in ring,sl st in center dc of next 3-dc group.Rep to form 8 points.sl st in ring.Fasten off,weave in ends. Lapghan- Continue joining octagon and fill-in motifs until you have 6x7 motifs joined.For edging,work a sc in each dc,2 sc in each ch-2 sp and a sc in each ch-2 sp where the octagon motifs meet. |
