Here's the perfect afghan for the man in your life!Long enough to cover his toes and wide enough to keep his "Love Handles" warm.This example was made with Redheart "Pounders" in Claret and Hunter Green.Make his afghan in favorite college or professional team colors.
Best of all,no pesky ends to weave in!
You'll Need:Worsted-weight yarn,approximately 58 oz solid(or 29 oz.each Color A & Color B),Hook "N".

Note:For a "Scrappy" afghan,2 rows require approximately 124 yds solid or 62 yds each of 2 colors.

*Afghan is worked holding 2 strands of yarn together.

Guage:3 V's=3 1/2"  4 rows=3 3/4"

V-st=(dc,ch 1,dc)

To Make:
With 2 strands CA,ch 16(this is fringe),place a marker in the ch below the hook.Ch 194,loosley.
Row 1:(right side)Dc in 5th ch from hook(equals V-st)*sk next 2 ch,V-st in next ch.Rep from * across to ch before marker(64 V-sts).Ch 16 for fringe,fasten off.
Row 2:With 1 strand each CA & CB,ch 16 for fringe.Join with sc in 1st V-st,ch 3,dc in same sp.Work V-st in each ch-1 sp across.(64 V-sts).
Row 3:Ch 1,turn.(sc,ch 3,dc)all in 1st ch-1 sp,Beg V-st made.Work V-st in each ch-1 sp across.Ch 16 for fringe,fasten off.
Row 4-48:Rep rows 2-3 in following color sequence*2 rows CB,2 rows CA/CB,2 rows CA,2 rows CA/CB.Rep from * ending with 2 rows of CA/CB.
Row 49:With 2 Strands CA,Rep row 2.Do not fasten off.
Row 50:Ch 1,turn.*Sl st in V-st,ch 2.Rep from * across.Ch 16 for fringe,fasten off.

*Pull strands of yarn on fringe up tight,trim to 1".

Note:Work 8 rows of afghan for scarf.

Charity:This afghan is large enough to fit a twin-size bed,which alot of charities ask for specifically.Use a main color(black,white,navy)and all your scraps.
