Tweed Feed Bag
7" dia X 9" t
Design2008 by Catherine Lindsay
I came up with this pattern to use up all the doubled thread in my stash. The cotton will help keep the acrylic from stretching. The fabric is stiff enough to stand up on its own.Use as a purse or container!

Example in:
Red Heart Supersaver-Aspen Print
Cotton thread-Natural
You'll Need:approximately 3.75oz worsted yarn("prints" work best-the color changes are short,which gives the finished bag a "tweed" effect),2.5oz 2-strand #10 cotton thread(either buy 2 balls or pull strands from the inside/outside of ball-roll into a ball before beginning),I hook

Gauge:not important, just make sure your stitch is tight.
Inc=2 sc in st
Note:Work in continuous rounds, use marker to count rows.

To Make:
Bottom-
Ch 2,loosely.
Rnd 1:8 sc in second ch from hook(8 sc).
Rnd 2:Inc around(16 sc).
Rnd 3:Sc in next st,Inc around(24 sc).
Rnd 4:Sc in next 2 sts,Inc around(32 sc).
Rnd 5:Sc in next 3 sts,Inc around(40 sc).
Rnd 6:Sc in next 4 sts,Inc around(48 sc).
Rnd 7:Sc in next 5 sts,Inc around(56 sc).
Rnd 8:Sc in next 6 sts,Inc around(64 sc).
Rnd 9:Sc in next 7 sts,Inc around(72 sc).Weave in beginning yarn end.

Side-
Rnd 10-37:Sc in each st around or until side measures 7 1/2"(72 sc).

Handles-
Rnd 38:[Ch 12,sk next 12 sts,sc in next 24 sts]twice(24 chs,48 sc).
Rnd 39:Sc in each ch & st around(72 sc).
Rnd 40-43:Sc in each st around or until handle measures 1 1/2"(72 sc).
Fold bag in half, lining up handle openings.Place a marker in the sc at the right-side fold.Sc in each st to within 2 sts from marker.Sl st in both loops of next st.Sl st in back loop of next st(this makes for flatter join).Fasten off, weave in end.
