| You'll Need:worsted yarn(about 1.5oz MC),various scraps for granny squares,J & I hooks. Note: sc dec-pull up loop in next 2 sts,yo,pull through all loops on hook. dc dec-(yo,insert hook in next st,yo,draw through 2 loops on hook)twice,yo,draw through all loops on hook. To Make: Download Two-Round Granny Square pattern. Join 7 Two-Round granny squares. Hat: Crown- Rnd 1:With I hook,join MC with sl st in any ch-1 sp on granny square,ch 1,sc in same st and in next 18 sts(ch-1 sps & dcs count as sts),sc dec.,*sc in next 19 sts,sc dec.Rep from * around.Join with sl st to first sc(60 sc). Rnd 2:Ch 2(counts as first dc),dc in each st around.Join(60 dc). Rnd 3:Ch 2,dc in next 2 sts,dc dec.*Dc in next 3 st,dc dec.Rep from * around.Join(48 dc). Rnd 4:Ch 2,dc in next st,dc dec.*Dc in next 2 sts,dc dec.Rep from * around.Join(36 dc). Rnd 5:Ch 2,dc dec.*Dc in next st,dc dec.Rep from * around.Join(24 dc). Rnd 6:Ch 1,dc in next st(counts as dc dec).Dc dec around.Join(12 dc). Rnd 7:Ch 1,dc in next st(counts as dc dec),dc dec around.Join(6 dc).Fasten off with 12" tail.Weave tail in and out of last round.Pull tight,weave in end. Band- Rnd 1:On opposite side of granny square,rep Rnd 1 of Crown(60 sc). Rnd 2:Rep Rnd 2 of Crown(60 dc). Rnd 3:Ch 1,sc in same st and in each st around.Join(60 sc).Fasten off,weave in end. |
