Another great way to use up your scrap yarn! Each row, excluding the beginning chain and Row 1, takes about 15 yards.Would look equally well using all different colors.

You'll Need:At least,15 yards each various scraps worsted yarn,J & I hooks.

Gauge:People come in all sizes,so lapghans should, too!Skinnier lapghans are good for wheelchairs.Wider lapghans are good for regular chairs.

To Make:
With J hook,ch 110.Switch to I hook.
Row 1:2 dc in second ch from hook(2 sk chs don't count as a st),dc in next 3 chs,sk 2 chs,*dc in next 4 chs,(dc, ch 1,dc)in next ch,dc in next 4 chs,sk next 2 chs.Rep from * across to last 4 chs.Dc in next 3 chs,2 dc in last ch.Ch 2(doesn't count as a st),turn(100 dc).
Row 2-?:2 dc in first st,dc in next 3 sts,sk next 2 sts,*dc in next 4 sts,(dc,ch 1,dc) in next ch-1 sp,dc in next 4 sts,sk next 2 sts.Rep from * across to last 4 sts.Dc in next 3 sts,2 dc in last st.Ch 2,turn.

Rep Row 2 to the length you want the lapghan to be.I normally make my lapghans 10" longer than the width(30"x40",for example).

Edging:
At end of last row,do not fasten off.
Ch 1,(3 sc in end dc of last row made.2 sc in end of each dc row to last row.3 sc in last row). Working across beg ch,2 sc in first ch,sc in each ch and 2 sc in each skipped ch-2 across to last ch.2 sc in last ch.Rep between ( ) once.Working across last row,2 sc in first dc,sc in each dc and 2 sc in each ch-1 sp across to last dc.2 sc in last dc.Join with sl st to first sc.
