Scrap DC Lapghan
You'll Need:worsted yarn in scraps along with a main color,J & I hooks

Gauge:Not important
Note:It takes a little time, but it's easier to weave in your ends every 2-3 rows instead of waiting until the whole lapghan is done.Just make sure your weave all your ends in on the same side.

To Make:
With scrap color & J hook,ch 100.Switch to I hook.
Row 1:Dc in fourth ch from hook & in each ch across, pulling up new scrap color in last loop of last dc.
Row 2-5:Rep row 1,changing color after each row.Pull up main color in last loop of last dc on Row 5.
Row 6:Ch 1,sc in same st & in each st across, pulling up scrap color in last loop of last sc.
Row 7-?:Continue to make repeats of 5 rows scrap dc,1 row main color sc until lapghan is 10" longer than the width, ending with row of scrap dc.

Edging:
With right side facing, join main color to upper right-hand coner with sl st.Ch 1,sc in each dc across, with 3 sc in corners.2 sc in the end of each dc row.

Please donate lapghans to nursing homes, hospice centers or any one you think may appreciate it!
This is a good lapghan to keep as an on-going project to use up leftovers from other projects.
To find how many yards your dc row takes(but not Row 1!),measure out 10 yards and mark place with safety pin. After you get to the end of the 10-yards,mark 1 yard and move safety pin there.Keep doing this in 1-yard increments until you get to the end of the row.Remember this number and place scraps of that yardage in a bag!
