Row 2:Hdc dec over first 2 st,hdc to end of row.Ch 1,turn.

Dropping scrap yarn, work 2 sc in each st around with solid-color yarn.Fasten off, weave in ends.
For Ties
Cut 12 strands of yarn approx 30" long.I use 2 strands of the solid color I used for the hat for each side and use different colors for the other strands.Take 6 strands for each side and, using crochet hook, pull the center of strands through the center stitch of the last round of the earflap.Braid the strands, with 4 strands in each group. When there are a few inches still unbraided, take one of the solid strands and wrap it around the braid.Needle that strand and pull it through the wrapped strands.Repeat that a few times to secure.Trim the strands to desired length.

Repeat for other side.
