4x4 Wrist Pouch
2 strands of SpeedCroSheen,held together,and a "G" hook.One of the strands was off-color(dark gray),but it gave the pouch a nice tweed look.
You'll Need:Any size thread or yarn and a hook that will make a tight sc stitch. Experiment with 1,2 or even 3 strands of yarn thread.Go where your imagination takes you!

To Make:Note-inc.=2 sc in next st.
Work in continous rnds, place marker in first st of each rnd.

Rnd 1:With thread/yarn and hook of your choice,ch 2,6 sc in second ch from hook(6 sc).
Rnd 2:2 sc in each sc around(12 sc or 6 inc.).

The rest of the pouch is up to you.I call this a "4x4" pouch because the bottom is 4" across and the sides are 4" high.Work as many of the following rounds as you need for the bottom to be the right size. There are 6 inc in each rnd.

Rnd 3:Sc in next st,inc,around(18 sc).
Rnd 4:Sc in next 2 st,inc,around(24 sc).
Rnd 5:Sc in next 3 sc,inc,around(30 sc).

When your pouch bottom is 4" across, start the side rnds by working a sc in each st around. Each rnd count will depend on how many rnds you made for the bottom.Continue making a sc in each st around until the side measures 4".You now have your basic 4x4 pouch! Now for the ruffled top and drawstrings.

At the end of your last sc round on the side,sl st into the next sc.
Rnd 1:Ch 4(dc,ch 1),*sk next sc,dc in next st,ch 1.Rep from * around.Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch of beg ch-4.
Rnd 2:Ch 1,sc in same st,*3 dc in next ch-1 sp,sc in next sc.Rep from * around.Join with sl st to first sc,fasten off ,weave in end.

For the wrist drawstrings, sit your pouch on a flat surface. With a cloth tape measure, measure around Rnd 1 of ruffled top and add 2" to this measurement. This is how long your drawstring needs to be.With the same thread/yarn and hook you used for your pouch, make a ch the length of your measurment.Be sure to make 2 or your pouch will hang funny!
Take one chain and weave it in and out in the ch-1 sp of Rnd 1.Bring the 2 ends together and tie into a knot.Cut to about 1-1 1/2" and fray out the ends.
Do the same as above for the second chain, except in the opposite direction. When you pull on the drawstrings in opposite directions,it should pull the top together.Ta Da!A handy pouch to carry your keys, change, lip balm, Swiss Army knife(LOL)and any other little trinkets you just can't do without.
Remember:Be creative! This pouch takes only a few hours to make,so you could have one to match every outfit whipped up in no time.Happy Crocheting!
